* This lightweight re-smoother refines uneven dry patches and uncovers a luminous and healthy glow.

Price: ~ $13.50

Pros: Primer, not oily
Cons: Does not reduce pore size, impractical packaging, not moisturizing enough

I bought all the 3 products in this series, hoping to see real improvement in my pores. It had advertisements on tv, brochures and magazines, with statistics showing that this really helps in refining pores. I was thinking, since they are spending so much on advertisements, this product should be effective.

I have been using this product for months but have not seen any visible improvement at all. In my opinion, it only acts as a primer - the effect is temporary.

I am using this as a moisturizer as there is only scrub, toner and gel cream. However I doubt the moisturizer is serving its purpose. Upon applying, I can still feel tightness on my face. Is it really moisturizing? ...I don't think so.

The packaging is simple and handy. However, the pump is not able to reach to the bottom of the bottle. The lid of the bottle was also not made to be opened. Cracking open the lid is the only solution to reach the gel cream at the bottom.

This product is a disappointment. I will not purchase this product again as it didn't make my pores reduce in size permanently. But if you are looking for a primer, you might want to give this product a try.

Ganier Pure Long Lasting Shine Control Moisturizer (75ml)

Ganier Pure Long Lasting Shine Control Moisturizer is specially formulated for oily and combination skin that can be shiny.
Its formula with White clay powders and zinc agent matifies, absorb and controlling excess sebum. Your skin is hydrated all day long with no greasy feel and is left feeling pure, with a long-lasting matified look.
Price: $5.50

Pros: Handy packaging, affordable, found in most drugstores
Cons: Doesn't really control shine, not moisturizing enough

The blue bottle is small and compact. The scent of this moisturizer is almost the same as its toner, but less strong, which is good.

However it didn't really help to control shine. My skin starts to shine after 2 hours. For me, this product is not moisturizing enough as when my skin feels tight after cleansing, applying this product does no help in the tightness.

Though it is affordable, I don't think this product is worth buying as it didn't really do as its description promised.

Hydro Balance Foam (100g)

Hydro Balance Foam (100g)
with Hydro Balance System
Oil free
Nourished with Vitamin E
Price:$4.50

I have read that pores will look smaller when our skin is well hydrated. I wasn't sure if that will really help. But I decided to give it a try. I bought this cleanser as it stated "Hydro Balance" and "for normal to combination skin".

One tube lasts very long. I have been using this cleanser for months and there is stil 1/4 left. When my face is very oily, I will have to wash 2 to 3 times with it.

I feel that it is just like a normal cleanser. Nothing fantaastic.

I haven't seen any improvement in the size of pores. But I will continue to try out other products. Do visit jane's review soon!!! =P

Almond & Cucumber Peel-off Mask (150ml/5.3 fl oz)

Almond & Cucumber Peel-off Mask (150ml/5.3 fl oz)
Almond & Cucumber Peel-off Mask unclogs pores and peels away blemishes to reveal healthy, glowing skin. Almond nourishes, soothes and softens your skin. Cucumber tones your facial skin and provides a cooling effect. Pineapple removes impurities and dead skin cells and firms up the skin. Indian Gooseberry has cleansing and antioxidant properties.
Price: $7.20

Pros: Inexpensive, lasts, herbal, thick, brightens and smoothens skin
Cons: Difficult to peel off

I bought this product as its tube stated that it is able to "unclog pores, tones, nourishes and furms up skin" and "herbal". I have used it for about 7 times and still have more than half of it left.

The mask itself is transparent and thick. This is an advantage because peel off masks must be applied thick enough in order to remove it more easily.

Though I normally try to put a thick layer, removing the mask really needs time and patience.

When I am removing it, I would be pissed as it is so difficult to peel it off. But when I am done, my skin feels softer and looks as though it is glowing. I would tell myself "all the time and effort is worth it".

This product is definitely worth trying. =)

St Ive's Purifying Clear Pore Cleanser

St Ive's Purifying Clear Pore Cleanser
Purifying face wash
Price: $6.80

Pros: Inexpensive, nice scent, pump dispenser
Cons: Slightly drying

The pump dispenser makes it convenient to use the product. I love its scent as it is not too strong or fake.

Before buying this product, I had read many reviews that said that this product has too little lather. But personally, I find the lather quite ok, better than some of my other cleansing foams.

However, it does make my skin feeling dry and tight at times, but this is still one of my favourite cleansers..

Beautain Anti Age Gel

Beautain Anti Age Gel
(eye contour gel)
- rejuvenating effects
- reduce fine lines
- restore youthful skin
Price: $21.90

Pros: Not sticky, Lasting
Cons: None

I bought this eye gel as it was recommended by a salesperson. I have used this bottle for about 8 months and still have 1/5 of it left.

If my cleanser makes my skin feel tight, after applying this eye gel, the tightness around my eye area will be relieved.

I am not sure if it helps in reducing fine lines as I don't have any yet, but I do believe that it does help to maintain the young look of my eye area.

Though this eye gel is not on the cheap side, I will still recommend it to my friend as it is hydrating and not sticky.

Katong Fried Oyster

Katong Fried Oyster
Blk 207 #01-52
Beside Bedok Bus Interchange
Price: $3 - $8

Most Singaporeans love Fried Oyster. Be it dinner or supper, wherever there is Fried Oyster, you can see diners having it as their main or side dish. Personally, I would always meet up with my friends for supper, and Fried Oyster is a "must have" for us.

As I live in Bedok, there are numerous places where I can indulge in this delicacy. Though it's common here, there are only few stalls that I truly enjoy.

Katong Fried Oyster, had been around for quite some time at Bedok Interchange Food Center. Business is good as you can see quite a number of tables with their Fried Oyster.

Usually they rotate among themselves to cook. However, i prefer the lady's cooking as there dish will be crispier. I guess she uses higher heat. If you are having your lunch there, do give it a try. It's the row of stalls facing the carpark instead of the interchange.

Ginvera Max Benefits (30ml)

Ginvera Max Benefits (30ml)
1. Provide day long moisture
2. Fades away pigmentation & dark spots
3. Reduces fine lines & wrinkles
4. Visibly refines pores
5. Controls & balance oil secretion
6. Skin becomes firmer and elastic
7. Softer, smoother, fairer, youthful & radiant skin
8. Provides double UV protection of SPF 30
Price: $13.50

Pros: Reasonable price, convenient to carry, 8 in 1
Cons: Thick creamy texture, clogs pores

I bought this to use as a sunblock for face. It has a thick, creamy texture which I didn't really like. After applying, skin look as though there is an oil film over it. Blotting is a must, after applying this. It also led to outbreaks.

I bought 2 bottles of it, and I have stopped using it for my face after using half a bottle. I didn't see most of the benefits on me, other than protecting my skin from UV rays and pigmentation.

GINVERA Green Tea Whitening & Refining Fluid (100ml)

GINVERA Green Tea Whitening & Refining Fluid (100ml)
Ginvera Green Tea Whitening & Refining Fluid is specially formulated to clear the residue in pores left by cleansers.
It refines and contracts enlarged pores while providing intense hydration to the skin.
With regular use, skin becomes finer and fairer.
Price: $6.00

Pros: Cheap, whitens, light green tea scent
Cons: Leaves skin feeling tight at times.

The toner is nicely packed in a green glass bottle and plastic box. It does make my skin feel tight at times, but I thought I should use few bottles before expecting any visible improvement in my pore size.

I bought 4 bottles, and I'm currently using my 3rd bottle. Sadly, I haven't seen any improvent. As for whitening, I think it does hebit.

I think this is worth trying if you are hoping to find a cheap and basic toner. Do not have high hopes on the pore refining ability of this toner.

Garnier Pure - Pore Tightening Astringent (200ml)

Garnier Pure - Pore Tightening Astringent (200ml)
Price: $4.50

Pro: Cheap
Cons: Too strong

I bought this as it has "pore tightening" in its name.

I have used 1/2 of it, and have decided to stop using it. It stings my nose and skin, leaving my skin feeling tight and dry. My pores also look larger after applying...perhaps due to its drying effect. It also has a very stong alcohol smell that irritates me.

It is definitely not worth buying. I am now using it as liquid that kills bacteria on my desk as it contains alcohol.

Izzi Body Mist - Sweet Love (100ml)

Izzi Body Mist - Sweet Love (100ml)
Price: $2.90

Pros: Cheap, nice scent, cute packaging
Cons: Numerous sprays required, bottles finishes fast

This is my first body mist. To me, Sweet Love has the most pleasant scent among the series. It has a very cute and lovely plastic packaging.

The scent is sweet and light. Completely perfect for a normal day out or even romantic date. However, numerous sprays (at least 12 sprays) are required in order to make the scent noticeable and lasting. Thus, I wont use this if I am in a hurry.

Though bottle finishes very quickly, but due to the low price and sweet scent, I will still continue to use it.

HTC Wildfire

HTC Wildfire
HTC widgets: Bookmarks, Calculator, Calendar, Clock, FM Radio, Friend Stream, Mail, Messages, Music, News, People, Stocks, Weather, Settings (such as Profile, Ringtone, Wi-Fi™, Bluetooth®)...
Available colours: Black, Red. Bronze, White
CPU Processor 528 MHz
Price: ~$430 (w/o contract)

Design:
It is a light weight beautifully designed phone, with a 3.2" capacitive touch screen with pinch-to-zoom.

Screen:
Screen resolution is a pathetic 240 x 320 QVGA. When screen is set to greater brightness, screen looks slightly pixelated.

HTC Widgets
The widgets which I love are clock, calendar and calculator.
There are few design that you can choose to put on your home screen for clock and calculators.
The Calendar is great as besides its beautiful design, it allows us to put full month's calendar on your home screen.

HTC home
HTC home's menu only allows us to view icons of 12 apps (4 columns, 3 rows) at a time , which I feel, can be increased.
HTC home also allows the saving, customisation of scenes, or simply use the preset scenes.
HOwever, this can be rectified by using Launcher Pro (which is downloadable in android market).

Battery life:
With a single charge and normal usage, the battery can last between 2 to 3 days, which is a plus point, as compare to Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.

Apps:
Launcher Pro is a great app. It allows customization for the number of home screens (max 7) and hiding apps that you seldom use, so that your menu will not be packed with unnecessary apps. It also includes dock, which looks like what Apple Mac have in their OS.

Camera:
5mp, geotagging, with autofocus and flash.
I think the camera is relatively fine. It is able to take sharp pictures at times but when hand is slightly shaky or when distance between phone and camera is too close, picture might be unclear.
I was quite disappointed with its videoing function. Most of other phones, which are older and cheaper (eg. Nokia 6288 and SE C902) allow zooming in and out while videoing, but it is not allowed in HTC Wildfire, which is a shame.

*Most photos posted on my blog are taken by HTC Wildfire. =D

Value for money:
I think Wildfire is value for money, though it is definitely not as good as HTC Legend. It is suitable for users who have a tighter budget but wishes to try out Android phones. I love this phone as it allows users to customize their home screens. However, the cons of Wildfire is its screen resolution and videoing function.

Bio-essence Face Lifting Cream - with ATP (40g)

Bio-essence (40g)
Face Lifting Cream (with ATP)
8 anti-aging benefits of Face Lifting Cream
    * Firms sagging skin to increase skin elasticity
    * Burns excess fats
    * Refines pores for radiant, smooth skin
    * Brightens dull complexion for fairer and more refined
      skin
    * Minimises the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
    * Lightens the appearance of aging lines between the nose and lips
    * Lifts facial contours
    * Shape a youthful V face
Price: $45 (Watsons)

It has a very nice packaging. This cream is less thick, less oily and more spreadable as compared to Bio-essence Face Lifting cream Pine Pollen.

It has a very light fragrant. After applying, skin feels oily and slightly sticky. but after about five minutes, when the cream is totally absorbed, skin feels soft and well hydrated. It did make my face sharper as it promised to give a "V" face.

However, I haven't seen any effect in the refining of pores. But I will continue to use it for few more months, hope to see some effect soon =P

I feel that this product is quite affordable for working adults, but slightly on the high side for a student like me.

Olay White Radiance Protective Lotion SPF24 PA++ (75ml)

Olay White Radiance
Protective Lotion SPF24 PA++ (75ml)
It has Cellucent Whitening Active, with Vitamin B3 that penetrates deep down to the sub layers of the epidermal cells to help activate cells natural radiance.
Price: $19.90

Pros: Nice scent, not too thick, brightens skin
Cons: Causes shine, bottle design

I bought this product as it is not in the form of cream, which I thought might suit my skin better. I was hoping to get a translucent and well hydrated skin. Well it did make my skin look brighter. It also has a very light and nice fragrance. After applying, my skin looks glowier and healthier.

However it caused my skin to get shiny and oily, hence, blotting is necessary within 3 to 4 hours.

It has a very nice and attractive packaging. The bottle can be opened but the bottle is tall, and  openning of the bottle is small. This makes it difficult to get the last portion ofthe bottle.

I feel that this product might be more suitable for those with less oily skin, and those who want to have a whitened and brighter skin. If your skin is more towards oily skin, I suggest avoiding it, unless, you do not mind blotting frequently.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
Price: ~$600 (without contract)

Design:
Xperia X10 definitely looks gorgeous with the 4 inch capacitive touchscreen. Therer are 3 buttons below the screen - namely the menu, home and back/cancel buttons from left to right. Feels sturdy in my hand. However, the back cover is made of plastic, which I personally feel would be better if substituted with metal.

Performance:
With Snapdragon 1GHz processor, the smartphone functions with minimal latency. However, battery life ought to be improved. With a need for charging every 1.5 days on standby, with minimal usage.

Operating System:
Initially Android 1.6. But now, upgrade is available in most countries to 2.1 Eclair. As it stated that it is in phase A, I believe there will be a next update on the Android OS. By the way, there are news stating that it will include multi-touch in the near future. However, the multi-touch support would not be perfect as compared to Iphone and other multi-touch enabled devices.

Apps:
One of the phone's highlighted apps is Timescape. It's an app that links up facebook, twitter, gmail, recent music played, calls recieved or missed and sms received. It allows users to view what their contacts have updated in the following social websites. In short, it is an all in one apps to find out what is happening around users and their friends. However, updating the timescape might not be successful despite numerous attempts. I wonder if the problem lies with my telco provider for not providing me good download speed or it's just Sony Ericsson not doing a good job in this app.
With Android market, I had downloaded numerous apps. Its simple and useful for finding the right tools for you.

Camera:
8.1 megapixel. Stunning shots for a mobile phone. Auto focus with HD video capturing. What more could I ask for? Its good.

Value for money:
This phone is considerably value for money as it has a 8.1mp camera and android 2.1 Eclair. However, if you are always traveling around and utilising your phone to the maximum, the battery life would be a hindrance to your needs.

POND'S cold cream (9.5OZ/269g)

POND'S cold cream (9.5OZ/269g)
the cool classic
deep cleans and remove makeup
Price: $6.50

This is my first makeup remover. I feel that it does help to remove makeup to a certain extent, depending on which makeup product I am using.

Its description stated that it is able to remove stubborn mascaras. However, I have to use it several times before the real stubborn ones can be totally removed. Sometimes, I will give up on trying to use this product to remove all of it and use an eye makeup remover instead.

It is good in a way that it doesn't make my skin feel tight or dry - as stated on the bottle.

Overall, I think it is an OK product. I will still continue to use it until I find a better alternative.

Bio-essence Bio multi effect BB cream (30g)

Bio-essence Bio multi effect BB cream (30g)
SPF25/PA++
8 in 1
(Concealing, Sun Block, Skin Repair, Moiturizing, whitening, Oil Control, nourishment, reduction of wrinkles and lines)
Creates flawless, natural makeup with charm
Price: $28/-

It has a shiny purple and silver attractive packaging. I bought this BB cream as it claims to have all the benefits that I am looking for.

Some of the benefits which attracted me are:

- REFINES PORES and whitens complexion
Yes.. After applying,. it did minimize the look of pores. However, I haven't seen much different after I
remove it. Perhaps I haven't used it long enough.

- IMPROVE SKIN TEXTURE for smoother, softer, REFINED and fairer skin
Yes... it gives me a smoother, evenly toned and a perfect skin after applying.

- Provides long lasting hydration to prevent dryness and REGULATES OIL SECRETION.
It did help to control shine oiliness. I do not have to blot my face at all!!! This is the first product that is able
  to do this.

Other benefits include
- Smooth velvety texture to provide a natural and flawless finishing
-Nourishes skin with the natural nutrients and mineral elements to revitalize skin
- Protects skin from harmful UV rays

I have used half tube of it and have put it aside for about 4 months. Now, it has water in the tube. Everytime when I want to squeeze some BB cream out, ithere will be few drops of water coming out first. Don't know why is that so.

Overall, I feel that this product is worth buying as it has a reasonable coverage, able to act as a makeup base which benefits our skin at the same time. It has a reason price and doesn't cause outbreaks.

Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer (283g)

Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer (283g)
Description: All skin types. Contains protein
found in young, healthy skin
Texture: Creamy
Fragrance: Nice Fragrance
Price: $8.50

I bought this moisturizer, hoping that I will be able to find the right moisturizer that suits my skin.

However, this wasn't a right choice for me. During the 3 weeks of usage, it gave me severe breakouts. I think it might suit people with really dry skin.

Now, I am using it as a hand moisturizer. I personally feel that it works better as a hand moisturizer as after using it on my hands, my hand feels really tender and hydrated.

Neutrogena Hydro Water Boost Gel (50g)

Neutrogena Hydro Water Boost Gel (50g)
with progressive release system
Price: $17.90 (Swanston); $20.90 (Watsons)

Once in a while, I will go for facials and I was told that for my skin type, moisturizers that are in the form of cream,  will make my skin oily, causing clogging of pores and outbreak. Therefore, I went looking online for reviews of Moisturizing gels. The reviews that I read gave me the urge to give it a try.

I was glad that I found the best moisturizer for my skin type.
Other moisturizers which I have used, will cause shine immediately after I applied.

I have used this Moisturizing gel by Neutrogena for 6 months. It has a light fragrance, and the gel itself is not too thick. After applying, my skin feels well hydrated. No tight feeling at all!!! I would strongly recommend this product for people who have combination or oily skin like me.
